SAILING RACE

The yacht club has a regular Sunday race. Yesterday, the turn-around was in our cove. What a delight it was to glance out over the Basin, to see this sight. (It almost looks tropical, doesn't it?) I dashed down to Smith's Cove beach to see the boats a bit closer, and saw them turning at the marker. With any luck, the boats will race this way again, but I suspect that will happen only next year. This is very close to the end of the sailing season for us.

from sublime to ridiculous....

Last night, the Basin looked beautiful, all blue. It was very unusual colouring, and had me enthralled for the several minutes it took to deepen, darken, and become true night.

And this morning, there is a blanket of fog covering the Annapolis Basin. Perhaps the sun will pull it back later this morning.

Saturday evening

This journal will be a chronicle of the more or less mundane events and activities that we experience at home, and in and around our village, which is Smith's Cove.
Most often, there will be views from the house windows or from the yard, accompanied by anecdotes associated with the image, or the day on which the picture was taken.
We are fortunate to have a wonderful view of the Annapolis Basin, and it is appreciated by all of us. We spend plenty of time, daily, looking over the B,asin and admiring the variegated and ever-changing colours in the clouds and water. The aspect of living here that we most appreciate is our view....and this picture shows that view this evening.
